The CS4TX Board of Directors (“Board”) is the governing body of the organization. The board is responsible for serving as leaders in the organization including, but not limited to: determining mission and purpose; supporting, evaluating, and selecting the executive director; protecting assets and providing financial oversight; ensuring legal and ethical integrity of the organization; guiding the public policy priorities of the organization through participation in the steering committee; appointing additional board and public policy steering committee members that are representative of the diversity of the CS4TX membership. Board meetings will be regularly scheduled with consideration of existing commitments of board members.

A Texas public educator and administrator for the past twenty years. Dan serves as a member of the Texas leadership team for Exploring Computer Education Pathways. Dan is a former Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) Board of Directors Chair and Treasurer. Dan is currently a CSTA lifetime member. Shaina Glass
Shaina Glass
Shaina Glass has been in K-12 education for the last 19 years, educating students and teachers alike. Her goal has always been to share her knowledge and love of learning in new, innovative ways with ALL Learners (young and older).
Shaina uses her voice to advocate for K-12 computer science (CS) and STEM, and serves as an educational consultant for schools and educational systems in her local community, and across the country. Shaina’s impact on schools, districts, CS/STEM and educational technology communities are noteworthy. She has developed a strong personal learning network through social media, STEM, computer science and educational technology ecosystems. Shaina attends national, local, and regional conferences, and seeks out new technologies, and educational opportunities.

Carol Fletcher
Dr. Carol Fletcher is Director of EPIC (Expanding Pathways in Computing) at UT Austin’s Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) where she oversees research, policy, and professional development projects in STEM and CS education. In 2015, she founded the nationally recognized WeTeach_CS professional development program, which has since trained and supported computer science certification for thousands of educators in multiple states . She is Principal Investigator for two National Science Foundation (NSF) projects focused on broadening participation in computing (BPC), the Expanding Computing Education Pathways (ECEP) Alliance and Accelerating Women’s Success and Mastery in CS (AWSM in CS). In addition to NSF, Carol’s Her research interests include BPC, scalable professional development, and collective impact models for promoting systemic improvements in STEM education.
Carol is a former middle school teacher and an elected Pflugerville ISD School Board Trustee from 2001 to 2019. Her experiences as a teacher, policymaker, and researcher bridge the gap between education, workforce, and policy. Additional leadership roles include Chair of the Texas Computer Science Task Force, CS4TX Board of Directors, the TEA’s STEM Educator Standards & IT Industry Advisory Committees, and numerous NSF funded STEM education grant advisory boards.

Sherwin Macalintal
Sherwin has over 15 years of expertise at the intersection of K-12 education and data science. A recognized leader in the Texas computer science community, Sherwin’s impact has been honored with the 2018 WeTeach_CS Change Maker Award from the University of Texas at Austin and the 2020 NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Educator Award.
Throughout his career, Sherwin has been a staunch advocate for expanding student access to STEM, from founding the Computer Science Pathway and robotics programs in Dallas ISD to architecting enterprise-level data solutions in Houston ISD. His commitment to the profession extends into global educator networks; as a former National Technology Director and Chapter President for the United Federation of Filipino-American Educators (UNIFFIED), he spearheaded international scholarship initiatives and modernized digital infrastructure for thousands of teachers.
